The Brain Drain
For this December 2008 Follow Up to our feature story on Community Health Workers in India, we examined the Brain Drain of doctors from the developing world. With statistics from a public health study, I created this graphic and designed the page layout. Click here to view on NGM’s website.

The Graphic Imperative
Poster promoting a traveling exhibit, The Graphic Imperative, which visited U of M in 2009. I explored the posters-plastered-on-kiosks meme in my senior thesis, and extended my experiments to this poster-on-a-poster. The goal was to connect international social design to students’ everyday experience in Ann Arbor.

Guide to Blue Activism
I designed and wrote The Michigan Independent’s Guide to Blue Activism for my senior thesis at the University of Michigan’s School of Art & Design. The book was written in collaboration with staff members of The Michigan Independent, a progressive monthly campus newspaper. The book was self-published and can be purchased at LuLu.com.

The fall 2006 ballot in Michigan included Proposal 2, a state amendment banning affirmative action. 86: The Senior Show Promotional Posters
Collaborative project to promote a show featuring work from 86 students presented to the public at three separate events in May 2007. The team worked together to create the logo and choose colors, but these three compositions are my own.
The Michigan Independent
I helped to start The Michigan Independent, a student-run, progressive monthly newspaper. As the first design director, I designed the nameplate, folio, grid and layout. I also selected and art directed a cover artist each month. I produced the newspaper for a year and half before passing it along to new designers.
